The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is offering a week-long CLM tutorial 18-21 February 2014. The tutorial will precede the 2014 CESM Land Model / Biogeochemistry Working Group Meeting (24-27 February 2014). This tutorial will use a combination of lectures and practical sessions to provide an introduction to the Community Land Model.
Learning objectives include:
- Understanding ecological, biogeochemical, and biogeophysical theory underpinning the CLM
- Running and modifying components of the CLM
- Analyzing CLM output
The tutorial will be taught by the staff of the Terrestrial Sciences Section at NCAR and is intended for graduate students in ecology, environmental sciences, or related fields. Postdocs and early career research scientists and faculty may also be permitted if space permits.
The tutorial will be held at NCAR's Mesa Lab in Boulder, CO. Participants should plan to be in Boulder during the entire tutorial and devote their full time to this tutorial. Participants will provide their own expenses for transportation (airfare & shuttles), lodging, and meals.
Please apply by Friday, 13 December 2013 at http://www.regonline.com/2014-clmtutorial to be considered. For further information about the tutorial, contact Barbara Ballard, firstname.lastname@example.org.
