CESM Configuration Naming Conventions
This document discusses how to properly refer to various configurations of CESM.
- The default configuration is CESM1. The default components are CAM4, CICE4, CLM4, and POP2.
- Only list components that have been swapped in for default components.
- Multiple component swaps are listed in alphabetical order. (As in, CESM1 (BGC, CAM5).)
- Resolution is never stated in the formal configuration name.
- Distinguish between CAM5 and CAM5.1.
