The ideal age and chlorofluorocarbon passive tracers (iage and cfc) are documented in Sections 8.5.1 and 8.5.2 of the The Parallel Ocean Program (POP) Reference Manual (Los Alamos National Laboratory, LAUR-10-01853).
In the future, this section of the CESM1.0 POP2 User Guide will address how the passive-tracer modules are used or modified. These modules are controlled by pop2 setup scripts, ocn.iage.setup.csh and ocn.cfc.setup.csh.
Until the documentation in this section is completed, the user is directed to the CESM1.0 Ocean Ecosystem Model User Guide. There you will find documentation on the ocn.setup.ecosys.csh script, which you can use as a general guide to the usage of the ocn.iage.setup.csh and ocn.cfc.setup.csh scripts.
