2020 CICE & Icepack Community Workshop and Tutorial

NCAR Mesa Lab in Boulder, CO

The CICE Consortium will hold a workshop and tutorial at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado in February 2020.

The purpose of the one-day user’s workshop (03 February 2020) will be to discuss the current and future development of the community CICE and Icepack models. The aim is to coordinate future development among users and expectations for contributing such advances to the community model code repositories.

Immediately following the workshop is a two-day tutorial (04-05 February 2020) that will feature lectures and practical sessions. Tutorial sessions will focus on using the CICE and Icepack models, both on their own as well as use within coupled modeling systems, and the process for contributing code to the community model. With hands-on experience running the CICE and Icepack models during the tutorial, participants will have extended opportunities for community building with CICE Consortium member model developers, who will present information and assist in the practical sessions.

Workshop and tutorial attendance will be limited to 30 participants.
