The CESM LENS provides an opportunity to examine drought spread in term of different initial conditions. We plan to use CESM LENS outputs to quantify the global and regional drought evolution and characteristics as compared with the historical records. We also want to identify the large scale circulation associated with droughts. Besides that, soil carbon storage and relevant processes are also going to be investigated based on the dataset.
